"Handy Bits of Information Just for You."

Coupons

1 ) Try to clip/print coupons you know you'll use, but don't toss out the rest. Sometimes stores have sales on items you normally wouldn't buy or even use. Keeping spare coupons handy can help you, especially when store pricing combined with a coupon, make an item a money maker. Just this week I loaded up on Gas X. While it's a product I will never use, I can easily donate it. For every 3 boxes I purchased, the store paid me $2.33. Was it amusing to see a lady buy 12 boxes? Yes....but I'll take a few snickers for $$$ any day.

Household

1) Fill a small hole in the wall with paste (not gel) toothpaste, dab paint over when dry.

2) Place a tennis ball in the dryer each cycle. Tennis balls not only cut drying time by 25% - 50%, but also fluff the clothes to a delicate softness, and towels with be especially fluffy.

Beauty

1) Lipstick is so 2 years ago, create your own tinted lip gloss. Mix your favorite lipstick with a dab of Vaseline.

2) Gummy nail polish? Place the bottle in a pan of boiling water. The polish will be like new.

3) Hemorrhoid cream and nasal sprays have chemicals that constrict blood vessels, use a dab for circles under your eyes or on red marks such as pimples.

Children

1) Wasting too many jars of baby food? Fill an ice tray and freeze it in cubes, place in labeled baggies and pop out what you'll need at feeding time.

2) Summers almost over. 2 weeks before school starts, start a bed time routine to get kids back on schedule. Stagger bed times for kids of different ages.

3) Make batches of waffles & pancakes from scratch. Freeze them in airtight containers and pop in the toaster as needed.

Money

1) Each week, buy a $5 - $10 gift card to a local store you use often. Stock these away for emergency use or stow away for the holidays.

2) Start a change jar and drop all spare change in it daily. Don't touch it for a month and deposit it in the bank. The average person has almost a dollar of spare change a day, that's $365 a year!

3) Buy used. Check yard sales, thrift shops, craigslist and local papers for items you need in good pre-owned condition. You can find everything from clothing to appliances, sometimes even free. Hubby and I found a wonderful sectional on craigslist and paid nothing.
