How Many Papers Should You Buy?

Not all of us are lucky enough to have magical inserts appear on our doorstep from friends & family so the dreaded question comes up.....

How many Sunday newspapers should I buy?

This is a question many new couponers ask and one that can make or break a good find for your family. If you don't have enough, you can miss getting an item you at it's lowest price and sometimes, that means missing freebies. If you buy too many, you may have supported the loss of the rain forest and wasted precious money, when it could have been spent on something sparkly & shiny:)

You can purchase as little or as many as you like, but it's best to buy one newspaper for each person in your household. By doing this, when a great deal comes along, you have a coupon to buy one item for yourself and additional items for each person in your family.

I also believe in buying newspapers in pairs (2,4,6 etc), for the sole reason of buy one/get one sales. For many stores, when a BOGO sale is held on an item, you can use a BOGO coupon with the sale to get both items for FREE. OK, so I also really, really like even numbers, it's normal, isn't it?

My exception is: Do you plan to donate or share with family? If your answer is yes, buy a few extra, as long as it's in your budget.

*On a side note: Should you get papers from a paper box, please only take what you actually pay for. People are being arrested & prosecuted for stealing papers/inserts that they did not purchase.
